    If you are into rock music in even
    the slightest way, then you'll instantly
    recognize the name Tim Bogert. He
    is bass guitarist for the group of Beck,
    Bogert and Appice, and used to play
    with the Vanilla Fudge. Believe it or
    not, besides his obvious musical tal-
    ents, Tim is secretly a custom motor-
    sickle freak like the rest of us untune-
    ful mortals and he has a rigid frame
    Sportster to prove it. As a matter of
    fact, Tim built the motor and set up
    the 13A inch SU and VW aircleaner
    on his own scoot, so he knows the
    dirty hand bit as well as the nimble
    fingers gig that he usually does.
    Since Tim spends a lot of time away
    from home on tours with BBA, the
    other construction of his bike was
    performed at Bill Martin's shop, Col-
    ours & Creations, in Brentwood, New
    York. The Jammer frame jammed out
    via freight from D&D Distributors in
    Burbank, California, and it was per-
    suaded to fit the '71 electric start
    motor with the help of a special bat-
    terybox—oiltank combo and coils
    mounted just ahead of the rear fender.
    It harmonizes out on the road with
    a D&D springer (14 inches over), a
    skinny 21 inch Avon tire and Hallcraft
    spool wheel, stock Sporty lightball,
    and drag bars on short risers. The rear
    wheel is set up with a Howard Barnes
    disc brake and sprocket assembly,
    plus 5.00 x 16 inch Avon rubber.
