3 Original Cartoons by ROY WILLIAMS, Walt Disney's
Story-Gag Artist and Big Mooseketeer, 1950s
    ROY WILLIAMS
    Three (3) Original Cartoons (1950s)
    Three (3) original cartoon drawings
    India ink on 6" x 8.25" paper, art image sizes: 5.75" x 8.25" and 5.75" x 8.25"
These three (3) original final cartoon drawings were created by Disney artist Roy Williams for submission to magazines for publication, likely in the 1950s. Mr. Williams was a talented and gregarious story and gag man who was a lifelong Disney artist. In addition, he was a successful cartoonist with his work published in
    The New Yorker
    and
    Life
and in at least two book collections:
How's the Back View Coming Along?
    (1949) and
The Secret World of Roy Williams
(1957). These originals are unsigned. The artist wrote his name and address on the back of one; on the backs of the other two appear his stamp.
Roy Williams (1907-1976) joined the Disney Studio in 1930; he was a prolific story and gag artist and remained with Disney throughout his career. He gained nationwide fame as The Big Mooseketeer on the
    Mickey Mouse Club
(1955-58), one of the two regular adult main cast members in the series' initial run. In the 1950s and 1960s he also appeared regularly at Disneyland to entertain guests and draw sketches of the cartoon characters. Mr. Williams was named a Disney Legend in 1992 and his page is located at: https://d23.com/roy-williams/.
The covers and a selection of cartoons from
