British Military Verners Pattern Verners Pattern
Type Prismatic Compass .
The disc is made of mother-of-pearl.
It is solidly weighted and has no problems with
accuracy as a tool (see the 9th iPhone comparison image).
It is quite stately after a century of use. It is marked Broad Arrow.
The condition is such that it may have had a ring for hanging,
but it has come off.
The bottom rubber is also cracked and peeling due to deterioration.
