try to mention the book's main faults
. all of my books are VERY OLD and have 100+ years of wear to varying degrees
very good + condition.... for their age:
3 of these have had their spines re-backed, looks like by 2 different people. One just the spine re-backed [original spine laid down over it], the other 2 -the new leather also replaced the leather on the sides on the boards as well as the spine - picture #9 shows the 2 different types -
very nicely done, matches well!

very secure, some spots [shown is the 4 dirtiest]

- pages very secure

-  mostly very good-  a few inches of splitting to some [glued back down to prevent further splitting]
spine & spine ends
- varies - some good, some chipped, 6 with repairs
tips
- varying degrees of wear - all touched up
inner hinges
-  most very good - the 3 re-bound volumes have been taped or have black ribbon
pages
- generally
very clean
, only a few spots
writing
- one soldiers name had been crossed out and a new name written in
rips /folds
- quick flip through each volume - looks like only a few of each
other:
- spine leather is a little, just a little, dry - I did put some much needed conditioner on it, you may want to do that about every 6 months or so /

may have accumulated bad smells along the way [musty basement/ mildew/ smoke]

dryer sheets in them for a few months makes a world of difference!
some of my books get sold right away so
please consider using this trick before deciding to return it!
My nose doesn't work like it use to
so the old book smell doesn't bother me.
