    Description

Offered for purchase is this exquisitely carved model pole from renowned Tlingit master carver James Rudolph.  Rudolph was born in 1858 and carved in Juneau, Alaska until he passed in 1933.  He was a prolific carver and is well known for his narrow but deep poles.  This beautiful three figure totem pole measures 9.75" tall by 1" wide by 1.25" deep and dates from 1915-1920.  This pole also has the highly sought after original Nugget Shop stamp on the back and the original price is written in pencil.
A very similar pole is featured in the model totem pole book "Carvings and Commerce Model Totem Poles 1880 - 2010" as shown in picture 9.  A photo of Rudolph with his carved poles is included in picture 10.
This totem pole would be a great addition to any collection.  Please review the photos in detail to review condition and please reach out to me with any questions.  I will be listing other Haida, Tlingit, Tsimshian, Salish and Nuu-chah-nulth items in the coming weeks.
