Authenticast models were made by Comet Metal Products, a die-castingcompany in Richmond Hills, New York. After WWII started Comet was commissionedby the US military to manufacture identification models of ships, airplanes andmilitary road vehicles. The military vehicles were cast to U. S. Governmentorder at 1" = 9', thus 1/108. By 1945 Comet/Authenticast offered over 50tanks and other military vehicle models from the US, Britain, Russia, Germanyand Japan to the public, but as time passed more models were developed.
