    SHAW SAVILL LINER
    " SS ARAWA"
    "Has lead a varied career, being built as a passenger ship on the Australia/New Zealand routes. Later bought by Union SS Co and served on Australia~San Fransico routes. Later chartered by Spanish Government~ renamed COLON and used as troop tranporter in the Spanish/American War. She was returned to her owners who sold her to Elder Dempster but immediatley taken over by the British Government for troop transport in the Boer War"
