Vintage M43 Kukri WWII Military Knife Machete Curved Blade 17" British Gurkha

I'm not 100% sure what country this originates from. I see others labeled as British, not 100% sure. Only marking is the M43. No scabbard. There is some wear/rust from use, age & storage.
