This vintage shade seems to be handmade, as it is not "perfectly square" and the metal fitter that sits on the socket is definitely handmade and not a full circle. However, this is not necessary for it to sit snugly on the socket. We suggest using LED bulbs for shades like this made of straw, since LED bulbs produce very little heat.
