Description
This WW2 1943 British Royal Navy MK XV AP13231 Admiralty Pattern Ship's Telephone is in good condition overall but does show signs of age, service and storage. The front cover of the telephone is well marked and it appears this telephone was made by the Telephone Manufacturing Company Of London in July 1943. Of particular note, there is also an affixed label reading "NO. 10 D.C.T. TO D.C.H.Q." This appears to be an abbreviation for "Damage Control" and could offer some insight into this particular phone's role during service. There is also the word "SOLD" written across the front panel just below the crank. The crank does still power the horn and it's a real treat to crank off a few turns. Most hardware on the exterior and interior appears to be strong and the metal phone case only shows expected signs of service, no abuse can be detected. The bakelite receiver is in good condition (also has electrical components dated July 1943 that are not pictured) though it's connection cord shows signs of age and poor storage. The internal electronics appear to be reasonably clean for age though nothing has been tested. Please examine the photographs carefully for the best description of condition.
