Ww2 Original 1940 British Army W. Ottway Co. Ltd No.1431 Telescope 38 Inches

Description

This is an original British military 1940 dated single draw telescope. It is marked W. Ottway co ltd,Ealing, London 1940 No.1431.it is all matching, the condition is very good ( there is some bumps and dings , the stitching on one side is undone). But overall everything works fine and the lens are clear and are not cracked . The draw and sunshade moves freely. The leather is in good condition and solid.
It is a big piece of equipment, approximately 38 inches long ( closed) and 14 pounds.
It could be an artillery telescope, but i have little information of the exact use.
